In 1998, I launched a website called Purposeful Singleness to encourage singles to not just bide their time for life to happen, but to choose to live purposeful and meaningful lives in the present. Its mission was “to provide inspiration, encouragement, and support for singles who may or may not feel called to singleness, but who desire to live purposeful lives for Jesus Christ.”
In 2014, I began to sense God calling me to bring this same message of living purposeful and productive lives for Jesus to a broader audience and I registered the domain name, livingourpurpose.com.
I had no idea then the number of “detours” God would take me on before this vision became reality, but I look back now and see His strategic Hand in those frustrating delays and realize they were part of His plan to bring me to this point better equipped than I was three years ago.
Around this same time, my cousin Shari Baer, a life coach, offered to meet with me to help me discover my Life Purpose and write my Life Purpose Statement. I will be forever grateful for this priceless gift she gave me.
Although I was already passionate about living purposefully, knowing my own unique Life Purpose focused that intent and brought more clarity in all areas of my life.
I had previously worked through a process of writing a Purpose Statement on my own, but the process Shari took me through was more thorough and the result a more complete and accurate statement.
This new Life Purpose Statement and her coaching benefited me so much that when Shari invited me to attend training to become a Life Coach, I jumped at the opportunity to learn how to help others in similar ways.
Eventually, Shari and I launched Living Our Purpose with a team of coaches. Later, we realized that each of us living true to our own Life Purpose did not include running it together — while we share a passion for seeing others set free to live purposeful lives, God has called us to different paths for accomplishing this goal.
Shari graciously blessed me to use the name Living Our Purpose to pursue my original intent when I registered the domain name in 2014, and we continue to support and encourage each other in living life on purpose. You can find Shari at her website or Facebook page.
And that brings us to today.
I have relaunched Living Our Purpose with a new website, new logo, and a new focus that includes the mission of Purposeful Singleness but to a broader audience. The Purposeful Singleness website will continue to be a resource specifically for singles and those who love and serve them.
I’m excited as I begin this new journey to provide inspiration, encouragement, and support through written content, coaching, and other resources to equip individuals to thrive in their God-given purpose and thus experience abundant life in Jesus and ultimate productivity in His Kingdom.
